Welcome!

A new season has come to my life and, as it usually goes, new seasons bring new experiences and opportunites. This blog will be one of those new experiences for me. It is my hope that I can share vision, revelation, and ideas with you here as well as updates on youth/childrens ministry happenings and such on a regular basis. One of my goals in this is to help bridge the gap in communication between our adults and young people and give you some idea of what God is doing and teaching us through this ministry. I am looking forward to seeing Gods plans come to fulfillment in the lives of our children.

Boys Ranch and Boot Camp

I just had to take a moment today to just praise God for some incredible things he has done over the past week. On Tuesday of last week, the 23rd, I was able to assist Pastor Ron and John Treherne with sharing communion with about thirty of the guys at the Boys Ranch. It was an amazing experience. From the moment we walked in the door there was just such a powerful and precious presence of the Holy Spirit. The boys were all very receptive and serious about what we were doing. One young man got saved and I believe many others were truly renewed and strenghened in there walk with Christ.
As if that wasn't cool enough, Ken, Chance and I had the opportunity to go to boot camp yesterday. I shared a short message from the story of the Samaritan woman at the well and then Ken and Chance gave their testimonies. 5 of the 6 guys there received Christ with a thorough understanding of the committment they were making. How awesome God is! His presence can change hearts without a word. I'm so thankful for the honor to be a part of such great things.
Now is the time to turn the hearts of a generation towards Christ. The Harvest is ripe. Get on board. There are many opportunities to be a part of God's awesome work in the lives of young people. Boot Camp is one of them...sign up in the Church lobby!

Poise Yourself for Victory

David in his lifetime was King of Israel. He was the General of a mighty band of 37 warriors, who did many great feats and exploits and defeated entire armies.
In the beginning however, David was only a shepherd boy. He was small, inadequate and unknown. His job was simply to keep the sheep. However, God begin to do great things through David at a young age. David slew a lion and a bear with his bare hands, and as he grew so did his faith.
When Goliath rose up against the Israelites no one expected David to step up to the Challenge. He would not have been ridiculed or despised for not being willing to face Goliath. In fact his name never crossed anyone’s mind. He was actually the last person they probably would have imagined stepping out and saying I’ll go down and face the Giant. So David wasn’t forced to face Goliath, he wasn’t even asked to except by God. David stepped out in faith and obedience. He chose to position himself in a place where God could show his might and do the miraculous. If he’d never made the choice to face Goliath, he’d have never had the opportunity to defeat him and possibly would have never risen to the greatness of the position God had ordained for him.
So here David is, a little shepherd boy, poised for a miraculous victory over an intimidating foe. Plenty there were that laughed and mocked him I’m sure. He set himself up for either victory or a humiliating death and because of his faith in the might of his God, he forever left an imprint on history; an event that we still look back to today as an example for our own faith and courage.
When we are faced with what seems like impossible odds, called out by a foe that may seem too big and intimidating, if we will let our faith rise up and believe that greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world, then we will place our self in a position to see God do the miraculous in our lives. Then he will be able to promote us to that position or higher calling he has planned for us.
I once asked God why I’d never seen the dead raised, to which God replied, have you ever laid hands on the dead and prayed for them to be raised. There are times when, in order to see God do the miraculous, we must position ourselves in a place where we can see only two options, great humiliation or great victory.
Let’s poise ourselves for victory!

Mens Ramp: Wow

Just returned from the Mens Ramp in Hamilton, Al and I can only say WOW. To put into words what God did in the hearts of our men would be impossible. I can say that we have determined in our hearts that we will no longer live as 'normal' christians. I myself, and I believe I can speak for most of our men, have decided that we are going to be fanatics. We are going to be radical for Christ. So if you see us on our faces, at the alter every chance we get just know it's not because we are in need but because he has already met all our needs. It's not because we are begging him for attention. We are in pursuit of his presence because he loved us enough to pursue us when we were hopelessy lost and bound for destruction.
It's not always about our needs. His word says "seek ye first the Kindom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you." He desires that we seek his presence. He is in need of something...He needs our love. He longs for our companionship, after all thats why he created us. Let us be like Mary, who while Martha was busy accomplishing works, chose the best thing...to simply sit at his feet and dwell in his presence.

Seek the Reviver

I just recently visited Bay of the Holy Spirit Revival at the Mobile convention center in Mobile, Al. It was an incredible experience, not just because God's presence was there manifesting itself through healings and miracles but because I believe it is only the beginning of something that is sweeping across the globe. A pastors wife, who had been paralyzed for 22.5 years was healed there in August. The night I went she had returned walking like a pro. A woman who had her bladder removed due to chemo for cancer testified that she'd been healed and was able to use the restroom normally for which the doctors have no medical explanation whatsoever. There were many other testimonies of miracles but my experience was a bit more personal though, and I have to take this opportunity to give God glory; For the past 6 or 7 years I have suffered from severe stomach and digestive problems. I had intended to go to the doctor and get diagnosed as the symptoms I had were the same as those attitributed to a medicine I'd taken in highschool but this night I was believing God for healing. I proclaimed by faith that I would leave that night healed and not only that but that I would carry that healing annointing back home with me.During the service the evangelist began to call out several stomach and digestive issues proclaiming that God was healing them at that moment. Sure enough I began to feel a deep burning sensation from my chest to the lower part of my stomach, much like that feeling you get when you apply icy hot. It burned deeply for about 15 to 20 minutes. I felt God speaking to me that he'd healed my stomach. I have to say I have not had the first problem since and this was an everyday occurring problem. Praise God for his healing power.

The reason for me sharing this story is not to encourage you to seek miracles and healing. Those things are simply the side effects of falling in love with Christ. I believe God is stirring up our spirits. He is ready to pour out that last day annointing he spoke of in his word. What we have to do is seek the giver and not the gifts. Lets get hungry for his presence, for in all of him we will find all we need.
